REVIEW: HK Girl Fast Dry Top Coat by Glisten and Glow (Seche Vite killer!!!)

Who knew that I would find a top coat that's BETTER than Seche Vite, doesn't include all of those harsh chemicals, AND helps my manicure last for pretty much a week?!

The above photo was taken on February 6th. Shiny, gorgeous, all of that. Skip to today, January 12th.
My left hand has barely any tip wear. My right hand being my dominant hand, of course has more but it's not anything that will be awkward to fix by adding a smidge of polish at the tips. An added plus, NO SHRINKAGE! And the lovely shine took probably 3 days to fade but it doesn't look bad at all. The drying time is about 5 minutes. It's probably quicker but just to be safe, I like to wait at least 5 minutes to do anything. And don't even get me started about how long I wait to use the bathroom 😂😂😂 Anywho, this top coat can be found here as well as many other incredible products such as lotions, cuticle oil, OPI nail polish and body butter! Jill is so sweet and talented and her products are made with love and care <3

Practice Practice Practice!

So with that haul from the other day comes a new realm of creativity! I finally got around to using my new brushes from Walmart, along with the nail wheels and polish that I got for my birthday. Without further adieu, here is what I finished just a couple of hours ago:

To the far left we have a design inspired by @nailsofjessiek's squevron design. I tried :') Next to that we have something that was the result of me wanting to put my pastel rhinestones to use. It's super minimal and I like how it came out. To the right of that we have some teeny tiny polka dots inspired by +MrCandiipants's various efforts. Then we have another design inspired by +MrCandiipants's efforts. And last but not least, we have a design inspired by miss @katiejanehughes's gorgeous "graffiti" nail art.

Practice totally makes perfect so I'm thankful for all of these lovely nail artists to inspire myself as well as everyone around the globe. I think recreating your favourite designs is a great way to practice and get yourself on the right path of creating your own designs. Please do not hesitate to check out my Instagram where all of my nail art will be posted, in addition to this blog.

Mini Sally Beauty Supply Haul

I picked up a few things from Sally's yesterday with a gift card that I got for my birthday a few days ago.

Sally's had 50% off of red tag items and some clearance items too. As well as a buy 1 get one free deal for Finger Paints polishes. Really glad I finally got to pick up some Bubble White to see how it works for me. It's this powder that you pour into a bowl or dish with some water and you rub it into your nails and soak them in there for a few minutes. Wash or buff it off and your nails should be free of yellow stains! I get so proud of the length and shape of my nails but the yellowing bothers me. I'll be sure to post my results on here.

Here's a closer look at the polishes I got. The first two are some of Revlon's new line of scented polishes that I wanted to swatch and possibly buy another time [Balsam Fir and Pink Pineapple], ignore those ;-) Any who, left to right: FP Emerald Expressionism, FP Inkblot Blue, FP Palette of a Perfection, OPI Push and Shove, and last but not least, FP Peacock Portrait. I got Inkblot Blue and Palette of Perfection on a whim because I had to make $25 to use a $5 off coupon that I had. And then I forgot that I get another free one! I might exchange Peacock for another colour because I'm not a huge fan of the way this glitter looks. I've become a little particular when it comes to glitter polishes. Although the colours in it are gorgeous, I might have to pass. Inkblot Blue actually impressed me after seeing it swatched. All of these polishes are shown with two coats (Peacock being one brushed on and then one dabbed on). I am LOVING the look of OPI's Push and Shove. I watched a couple of reviews on it after purchasing and was a little impressed, but I still felt like there was something missing. Now that I've swatched it myself, I'm that much more to wear it with my newest pair of sandals from Shoedazzle. I think it will be an awesome fit with an all white outfit. And then the cuticle pusher, nail file and cheap "manicure set" (solely for the separators!) are just things I've needed and just got the chance to pick up.
